We Coordinate The Spiritual Care Hospital Visitor Ministry
at Stevenson Memorial Hospital

If you are a good listener, comfortable in the hospital, have a compassionate heart and would like to join our team the first step will be to fill out an application form for the Hospital Auxiliary. There will be an interview and training will be provided.  If you would like more information please contact the Rev. Deacon Pam Alderson at pam.alderson@standrewanglican.caThis is an interdenominational team which functions under the umbrella of the Hospital Auxiliary.

Spiritual Care Visitors spend a couple of hours going in and out of hospital rooms listening to patients and sharing stories. Sometimes we are asked to pray for them or their families.

This course will teach you the basics about spiritual care in a hospital setting in the context of a volunteer.  This time of training is an opportunity for you to discern if this ministry is for you. At the same time, it is an opportunity for the facilitator to discern your gifting as a spiritual care visitor. To qualify you must be endorsed by the minister at your church. You also must be a member of a local church in good standing.

Taking this course does not mean automatic acceptance, but is a requirement. We meet monthly for ongoing support and enhanced learning.

If you feel you have a heart for this type of ministry, download the form, fill it out and email it back to Rev. Pam Alderson.
